Owner
of a 63 years old house with knob and tube wiring wanted to upgrade the house
wiring to current standards.
House had a 30 Amp, 120
volt single phase service.
Wirings were old, and
dangerous.
Electrical outlets were
non-functional.
We started with furring
the garage wall and installing a new 200 Amp 120/240 volt panel.
Then we pulled new wires
throughout the house. All wiring were pulled through the walls. For doing
this we had to open a few places in downstairs ceilings. We repaired all opened
ceilings at end of project.
We installed new light
fixtures, switches and receptacles. We did all this work while house was
occupied and with minimum inconvenience to the residents. Every night we
made sure residents have power before we left the house.
After wiring was
completed, we closed the furred wall. It was time to ask PG&E to
disconnect the power
PG&E came early
morning and disconnected the power.
We quickly installed a
200 Amp main switch and meter box and ran conduit and wires to the roof.
Mast and weather head is
installed and ready for power connection.
After job was inspected
by the city inspectors and approved, PG&E came back in that afternoon and
reconnected the service. House has a new and safe wiring now.
